That’s how we met, at a nightclub in Curitiba in October 2012.

It’s strange to think that if any small detail had been different that night, we might never have met. Brazil and Finland, worlds apart — and yet, after starting the evening at different parties and being persuaded by our friends to end up at James Bar, there we were, in the same place, at exactly the right time.

And it all started because Matti had spent a little too long by the barbecue, and Patricia couldn’t resist asking why he smelled like one.

Then came years in different countries, years living together in Finland, and eventually a new life in Sweden. We’ve been through changes, travels, ups and downs, and many different chapters of life — always together, and increasingly certain about the choice we made all those years ago.

Now, after so much history together, it’s finally time to make it official. And nothing could feel more fitting than going back to Brazil, where it all began.
